Mindfulness
Mindfulness

If you’re not familiar with the art of mindfulness it may seem like an overwhelming task to commit yourself too, who has time to meditate in this constantly moving environment? Take baby steps, try being present when undertaking simple daily tasks like washing up or driving to work, instead of seeing them as a means to an end try and enjoy the moment. One of the most common practices of mindfulness is Meditation and it has many positive benefits, just 10 minutes a day can help you on your way to a more positive frame of mind and restful night’s sleep. Give it a go and reap the joyful rewards of being in the moment.

H20
water

75% of our body is water so you have to appreciate the brilliance of it. So simple yet so effective, downing this stuff really does ensure that glowing skin, high energy levels, purifies our systems and helps us feel as healthy as we can. It is easy to forget to keep hydrated throughout the day so if you want to feel your best, be sure to drink at least 8 glasses a day.

Immersing yourself in Nature
Getting out in the fresh air and taking in beautiful natural scenery may be hard to achieve in the big smoke but it is a great way to feel grounded in a sometimes claustrophobic city. If you don’t have time to venture out of London there are plenty of parks and lakes in the city that will help you achieve a calm and serine state of mind. Take a book, have a picnic enjoy the perfection of nature and breathe that fresh air in! Personally, one of the most magical places in London is a beautiful Japanese garden tucked away in the heart of Holland Park. If you have yet to visit Kyoto Gardens, sneak away at dawn and enjoy the pure bliss this garden has to offer, the morning is the best time to visit as you’ll be able to take it all in at its most serine. If you’re lucky you might even spot a peacock 😉
My hope is that you are already applying most of these musings to your everyday lives so that you can really reap the rewards of leading a healthy lifestyle for both you and your loved ones. Perhaps your someone who needs a gentle reminder every so often and as your therapist I am always on hand to nudge you in the right direction 😉 my aim always nestles in the bosom of simplicity: to educate people about the joys of health and wellbeing and beyond.
As Chinese proverb saying “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
Enjoy your journey and stay present !
